Dream 1: My sister (an extrovert with the tendencies needed to put the idea over to others), my work partner and I are going upstairs (thinking area, mental functions) to vote. The ballot has a pressed daisy attached. (Daisy is the name of the department supervisor. She would have to be pressed to accept the new idea.) First question on the ballot: Should the program in question be based on concrete experience? This is a basic premise behind my new program. I vote yes. Second question on the ballot: Four squares to choose from, each having the same flower design (blossoming ideas), but in different colors. I vote for the design done in tans and browns (the idea is down to earth), yellow (symbol for mental activity—Nancy had thought the idea through) and orange (symbol for energy- she will need it to get the new program going). Third on the ballot is a place for the voters’ comments. I write, "I don’t think a worker who does creative innovations for her job needs to be told this" (she knows from her past experiences that her ideas work well). I leave the voting building and start to walk away. I remember I had driven here (she is the driving force behind this new program). I know I am on the right street to pick up my car.

With this encouragement Nancy decided to go ahead with the new idea. After talking about it with her work partner, she decided to present it to the supervisor. The next dream warned her that her work partner, lazy and not willing to make waves, would not support her:

Dream 2: I have a beautiful baby boy (idea for a new activity). My son (masculine, active part of herself) is helping care for the baby. Someone takes a flash picture of the baby (partner’s quick look). This makes the baby hot and sweaty (it’s a hot idea but Nancy would have to sweat it out).

Next, I’m putting a clean undershirt on the baby (making it presentable). One arm sticks in the sleeve (partner, stuck in the old ways, won’t help).

As predicted, the partner gave Nancy no backing. Without her help, the task of getting the new program going was not easy. Nancy was bothered (bugged) by this to the point of feeling persecuted. This next dream says help is on the way:

Dream 3: I’m at a college lecture being given by a talented male, Negro artist (to Nancy, Negroes symbolize persecuted people, and the artist represents her as a creative person). The artist is leaving and going to a garret room (high level), where the college’s Negro artists live. I follow  him  out.  I  can  see he is very upset and  ask  him
