NOTICES

Win a Free Book

Sundance has received ten copies of Janice Baylis's handbook. Dream Decoding and Dynamics: An Interpretation Manual (see page 232). We are going to give them to the first ten participating subscribers who send in any of the following items which are judged acceptable for publication.

1) A dream shield, or collage of dream symbols (see Sundance, I(2), 184) in black and white and suitable for photographic reproduction (see pages 155 and 162).

2) A review of a good book of interest to dreamers (500 words). Stress what you learned from reading and applying the book (see page 235).

3) A dream interpretation essay (500 words) that gives some insight into the collection of subscribers' dreams about our Journal that have appeared so far in Sundance (for example, see pages 274-281).

Entries will be judged promptly and in order of receipt. The first ten entries judged acceptable for publication will receive a copy of the handbook. Subsequent entries that are judged acceptable will also be eligible for publication.

Wanted: Telepathic Dream Helpers

A research project is underway to study the ability of dreamers to diagnose clairvoyantly and render telepathic assistance to people who are requesting help for mental or physical sufferings. The research project is being patterned after the "Dream Helper Ceremony" described in the previous issue of Sundance (see "Telepathy in Dreaming" by Robert Van de Castle and "Dreaming for Mary" by Henry Reed; Sundance, II(1), 100-111).

If you have reason to suspect that your dreams are sometimes a telepathic response to the needs of

other people (e.g., as in "The Story of Herb Lee," p. 197), consider becoming a volunteer dream helper for this research project. For further information, contact: Dream Helper Project, c/o Sundance, P.O. Box 595, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.

The Book of Dreams

Howard Schwartz (see Sundance, 1(2), 212) and Henry Reed are collaborating with dreamers to create The Book of Dreams, a compilation of the most interesting dreams that can be found. Have you had a dream that makes an interesting story in itself about any of the following topics?

birth
death
marriage
cave
mountain
river
owls
turtles
bears
seasons
sun
moon
planets
circle
square
triangle
music
plants

The symbols suggested are meant to prompt you to look over your dreams for those that might have a general allegorical value. The editors are also interested in childhood dreams, recurrent dreams and other especially striking dreams.

As the book progresses, experi- mental portions of it will appear in Sundance. For example, see Fish for the Book of Dreams" on page 257. Every person whose dream is chosen for final publication will receive a free copy of The Book of Dreams.

Dreams that are submitted anonymously will be accepted. Otherwise, please indicate if and how you want your name used. Submissions that fail to indicate that consent is given for publication cannot be considered.

Address: The Book of Dreams, c/o Sundance.
