attention to information received through dream channels, I would be
somewhat hypocritical not to follow through on Tenny Hale’s
dreams and try some Genesco stock. I called a broker and
purchased 300 shares of Genesco at $3.25 a share. Within two
months, Genesco rose to $6.25 a share and then took a
downward turn which lasted for several months.
While the Genesco stock was still moving up, I had a dream of my own involving Genesco: I am on a bus in what seems like Washington, D.C., traveling through several streets. I look out the window and notice a street sign indicating that we are on Genesco Street, which pleases me. I notice on the side of a building a wooden sign saying, Genesco 1-1137. There is an arrow pointing from the figure 1 to the figure 1137. I understand these numbers to represent the house numbers to be found on the next block. I don’t see any other signs but assume there are additional blocks further down the street and that they would contain progressively higher house numbers. There was another part to this dream, a scene that proved precognitive: I go up to a counter and ask the girl there if she would take a $10.00 traveler’s check. As I take out the thick book of traveler’s checks, I tear one off and it rips near the edge. I ask the girl for some Scotch tape to join the two pieces. I notice there is quite a large array of numbers on the check. The rip goes through either the number 0 or the number 9. The number 5 appears to the right of the rip and there are several other numbers to the right and left of the rip. As I try to Scotch tape the two torn parts together, it seems the check now contains a large number of slots like an IBM card, and I think it’s important to align all these slots correctly. A few days later we received a government tax refund statement for $110 and a few cents. My wife gave the check to our son to give to me at work so that I could deposit it at the bank. He put it in his pants pocket and the check got torn into two pieces. I decided to tape the two parts together before taking it to the bank. As I bent over the check trying to align the slots, my dream from several nights earlier suddenly flashed back to me. As I examined the check more carefully, I noticed that the rip passed through the number 9 at the top of the check, and down below, the numbers 959 appeared to the immediate right of the rip. There were also several numbers to the left of the rip. I couldn’t overlook the clear precognitive aspects of the latter part of the dream. There were several specific points of 189
